Ana Bastos is currently the CEO of Urbem, a Brazilian company focused on construction that promote forest restoration. She aims to support TFD’s Climate Positive Forest Products (CPFP), which focuses on helping meet the emerging demand for timber in the construction sector while helping restore forests. She hopes to bring forward Brazil’s extensive experience in forest management,“ while learning from other countries’ mass timber practices. With a background in chemical engineering, she worked at BP for 8 years, serving as a VP for Biofuels Projects and VP for Biofuel Safety and Operations Risk. She also worked at Solvay, a chemical company based in Brussels, where she stayed for 11 years, serving as a Strategic Marketing manager. She holds an MBA from the Fundaçäo Dom Cabral and a BA Chemical Engineering from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas.
