12 - 14 June 2017
The second Tanzania Land Use Dialogue (LUD) revisited and expanded upon the issues, challenges and priority actions of the previous year’s LUD, also held in the Ihemi Cluster, Southern Tanzania. It was co-organized by The Forests Dialogue, The Southern Agricultural Growth Corridor of Tanzania (SAGCOT), IUCN’s Sustainability and Inclusion Strategy for Growth Corridors in Africa (SUSTAIN-Africa), and IUCN International.
The LUD is a multi-stakeholder engagement platform that represents a participatory and integrated approach to identifying challenges in competing land uses and enabling cooperative efforts for sustainable solutions. In last year’s LUD, participants identified four prioritized actions:
- Focus on the participation and inclusion of actors in the landscape
- Develop a common understanding of Inclusive Green Growth
- Enhance collaborative platforms
- Make efficient use of resources such as land/soil, water, wildlife, and rangelands
The second Tanzania Land Use Dialogue was held from June 12th to 14th, 2017.
