Luca is a second-year Master of Environmental Science candidate at the Yale School of the Environment. At YSE, he studies the science and policy that underpin ecosystem conservation and land management, nature-based solutions, and climate resilience. Currently, his thesis work is focused on evaluating wildlife connectivity efforts in the American Rocky Mountain West. He additionally holds a research assistant position at the Yale Center for Business and the Environment’s Regenerative Agriculture Initiative, studying farmer perspectives on agroforestry and tree-planting policy structures in the US. Prior to starting at the School of the Environment, Luca supported human-wildlife conflict research in Kenya and worked as an environmental educator in Colorado and Wyoming. He received his B.S. in Biology and Environmental Science from Tufts University.

In the summer prior to starting at Yale, Luca supported TFD’s ongoing Land Use Dialogues initiative in DRC, Uganda, and Tanzania as a program associate. Currently, he supports TFD’s Climate-Smart Forest Products and Forests and Climate initiatives, both in their initial phases.
