Steven Ring
Steven Ring is a Master of Environmental Management candidate at Yale School of the Environment, specializing in Ecosystem Management and Conservation, and People, Equity, and the Environment. He holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Kenyon College, where he graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. His professional experience spans roles with Trust for Public Land, Yosemite National Park, and TreePeople, emphasizing ecological stewardship, project management, and conservation. A published writer in The New York Times, Steven is also skilled in storytelling, research, and field leadership.
At Yale, Steven co-leads the school’s chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration, as well as the Outdoor Recreation and Industry student interest group. Steven is a Teaching Fellow for the Strategies for Land Conservation course, and conducts research for the course in partnership with Brad Gentry and Walker Holmes.
In his free time, Steven enjoys botanical watercolor painting, trivia nights, and backpacking trips.
