Steven Ring

Program Associate

Steven is a first year MEM candidate at the Yale School of the Environment, specializing in both Ecosystem Management and Conservation, and People, Equity and the Environment. He is excited to learn more about equitable and inclusive strategies to improve landscape management plans and environmental stewardship programs.

Steven earned a Bachelor of Arts from Kenyon College in 2017, and has worn quite a few different hats while working in the field on varied conservation and restoration projects. Notably, Steven spent several years on Yosemite National Park’s trail crew, as well as time monitoring human-bear interactions for California State Parks in Lake Tahoe. Prior to attending YSE, Steven managed a workforce development program that supported habitat restoration and urban tree canopy expansion projects for the environmental non-profit TreePeople in Los Angeles.
