Field Dialogue on Ecosystem Restoration in Bahia, Brazil

TFD’s first field dialogue in Brazil under the Ecosystem Restoration Initiative will be convened in Bahia, Brazil on May 4-8, 2026. The dialogue will advance conversations surfaced during the Scoping Dialogue by focusing on the role of the forest sector in ecosystem restoration. The dialogue will include both plenary and small working group formats as well as field visits to hear directly from local participants about existing ecosystem restoration needs, opportunities, and challenges.

 

Specific goals of the dialogue include: 

 

1. Clarify ecosystem restoration needs and engage a broader range of stakeholders in Bahia
2. Understand how the private sector can better support forest restoration and increase engagement
3. Explore collaboration opportunities to co-create successful ecosystem restoration approaches 

The dialogue is hosted by Fórum Florestal da Bahia (Bahia Forest Forum) and Diálogo Florestal (Brazilian Forests Dialogue) in collaboration with The Forests Dialogue.
